Users choose two teams from the pulldown menu, and let the computer help in the selection process. The Predictor generates a projected line and total to compare with the actual one. It is not the magic solution to picking winners, but it's a great starting point for your handicapping. Visit www.dailymatchup.com
We will also offer our daily handicapping picks as well as other handicapping tools for a small fee. By using our sports prediction model and our daily handicapping, you'll get the best of both worlds. Freedom to make your own choices after viewing the predictor everyday, and our expert picks to help you as well. Thanks for taking a look.
I love Connecticut to win this game at Michigan. They are the better team getting points in my opinion.

I am back again this year at capping college football games. My season stopped a little bit short last season as I went on a pretty bad stretch after starting the season pretty well. For anyone who decides to follow good luck and wish me the best. I normally post my plays the day of the games and at times a day or two before the games. I like to track which way the lines move and where majority of the public moves with it. I will normally post my plays a couple days before the games if I feel that where the line is I am getting a good value. But for the most part plays will be posted the day of if not just a couple hours or even less than an hour before the game. So once again good luck to anyone who follows along with me on this journey that is college football. What a great time of year this is for all of us. Also most all plays that I make are for 2 units on my scale for the money I can afford. Unless I really feel that I am getting a great value on the game I will bet more and I will note in the game description that I am putting more on the game.

Marshall at Ohio State Preview from Sportsoptions

*When:* 7:30 PM ET, Thursday, September 2, 2010

When: 7:30 PM ET, Thursday, September 2, 2010
Where: Ohio Stadium, Columbus, Ohio

If you think there’s no chance Ohio State could be looking past Marshall to next week’s game against No. 13 Miami, just rewind back to 2009.

Ohio State was ranked No. 6 entering its season-opener against Navy with USC on the schedule the following week. The result was a tight 31-27 win over the Midshipmen and the Buckeyes followed that up with an 18-15 loss to USC in Ohio Stadium. That loss dealt them a severe blow to their aspirations of playing for a national championship.

The second-ranked Buckeyes (11-2 in 2009) cannot afford a similar performance when they open against Marshall in a rare Thursday night matchup in Columbus.
With high expectations for another run at a national championship and talented Miami coming to town on Sept. 11, you can’t help but wonder about the Buckeyes’ focus for the Thundering Herd.

Nobody in Columbus will admit to taking Marshall lightly. Then again, it wasn’t that long ago when OSU needed Mike Nugent’s last-second field goal to beat Marshall 24-21 early in the 2004 season.

But with 26 players with starting experience back this year – 19 of 22 starters are juniors or seniors -- the Buckeyes look as deep and talented as they’ve been in a long time. And with their decisive 26-17 win over Oregon in the Rose Bowl still a fresh memory, they have the look of a championship team.

Junior quarterback Terrelle Pryor, who is 19-3 as a starter, had a great offseason. Head coach Jim Tressell says Pryor has made significant progress in learning the position and casting off the inconsistent play that plagued his first two seasons. Based on that and his MVP performance in the Rose Bowl, many have Pryor penciled in as a Heisman Trophy candidate. He passed for 2,087 yards and 18 TDs in 2009, and also had a team-high 779 rushing yards.

The Buckeyes are loaded at the skill positions with running back Brandon Saine (739 rushing yards) and their two leading receivers DeVier Posey and Dane Sanzenbacher back.

Six full-time starters are back on defense, including defensive end Cameron Heyward, the team’s leading sacker. The son of former NFL fullback Craig “Ironhead” Heyward, Cameron Heyward could be a top-10 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. Senior linebackers Brian Rolle and Ross Homan had more than 200 tackles between them last year.

A bit of a fly in the ointment for the Buckeyes is the uncertainty about what Marshall will bring to the field Thursday (7:30 p.m.; Big Ten Network). Doc Holliday makes his head-coaching debut, and Tressell said in his weekly press conference that it was difficult to pin down what to expect from a program with new coaches and schemes.

Linebacker Mario Harvey and tight end Lee Smith are preseason all-Conference USA picks, but the Thundering Herd (7-6 last year) will need more than them to knock off the Buckeyes.

Quarterback Brian Anderson is back, but he had a fight to earn the starting job and will have to be more consistent for Marshall to be successful. He passed for 2,646 yards with 14 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 2009. The defense has talent in the front seven, but the secondary is suspect.

Southern Mississippi at South Carolina Preview from Sportsoptions

When: 7:30 PM ET, Thursday, September 2, 2010
Where: Williams-Brice Stadium, Columbia, South Carolina

Southern Miss expects to win Thursday's opener at South Carolina.

The biggest sports story this summer in Hattiesburg, Miss. (OK, maybe the second biggest behind the Brett Favre soap opera) came from an off-handed comment by Southern Miss coach Larry Fedora at a summer meet-and-greet with boosters. He didn't say "if" we beat South Carolina; he said "when" we beat South Carolina.

Fedora didn't back off his bold prediction when it blew up on blogs and bulletin boards in Columbia, where the Golden Eagles will face a formidable SEC foe before 83,000 fans on national TV. But a quick glance at the record books reveals that Fedora's foreshadowing isn't as far-fetched as it might seem.

Both teams are coming off 7-6 seasons, but it was Southern Miss' 16th consecutive winning season and eighth straight bowl appearance. South Carolina has five straight winning seasons under coach Steve Spurrier but never better than 8-5 and with only one bowl victory. This is not a monumental mismatch.

The Gamecocks return 16 starters, eight on offense, including SEC all-freshman WR Alshon Jeffrey and a trio of running backs to join incoming freshman Marcus Lattimore. Spurrier's top concern, of course, is at quarterback. Senior Stephen Garcia and freshman Connor Shaw will share time with Spurrier breathing down their shoulder pads.

But Spurrier won't be the only one applying pressure to his quarterbacks. Southern Miss returns nine on a staunch defense led by defensive end Anthony Gray and linebacker Korey Williams.

Southern Miss also is two-deep at quarterback with junior Austin Davis and senior Martevious Young splitting time. Wide out DeAndre Brown and running back V.J. Floyd also are back to lead the team's attack. Only one starter returns on the offensive line, so the Eagles could find tough sledding against the Gamecocks' defense.

South Carolina's defense ranked third in the SEC last season and returns all-SEC honorees defensive tackle Travian Robertson, defensive end Cliff Mathews and cornerback Stephon Gilmore.

The Gamecocks have been dealing with the NCAA in its backyard investigating a local hotel which allegedly allowed players to stay for a reduced rate. All-SEC tight end Weslye Saunders has been suspended and at least 10 players were forced to move out in the middle of preseason practices. The distractions could have South Carolina ripe for the picking.

If or when it happens, you heard it from Fedora first.
