LONDON (Reuters) - Scientists said Wednesday the universe could be spherical and patched together like a soccer ball -- and it may not be infinite.

Jeffrey Weeks, a MacArthur Fellow based in Canton, New York, and researchers from the University of Paris and Observatory of Paris analyzed astronomical data which suggests the universe is finite and made of curved pentagons joined together into a ball.
In research reported in the science journal Nature on Wednesday, the scientists said data from NASA (news - web sites)'s Wilkinson Microwave Anisotrophy Probe (WMAP), which maps background radiation left over from the Big Bang, is not consistent with an infinite universe. "Since antiquity, humans have wondered whether our universe is finite or infinite. Now, after more than two millennia of speculation, observational data might finally settle the ancient question," Weeks said.
In a commentary on the research, George Ellis of the University of Cape Town in South Africa, said if Weeks and his colleagues are correct we might indeed live in a small, closed universe.

Physicists have been bickering and postulating about this for decades. Kind of hard to believe them when they keep changing their opinions and can't agree on a thing.
I wonder what they will come up with next week?

Yes Slim...Old MISL Legends...
Zungul maybe the best goal scorer n the world, certainly the best indoor player of all time...
Stamenkovic the most spectacular dribbler/passer you will ever see, Stan died about 8 years ago back in Yugoslavia...He was the most unique player, his dribbling was one of a kind, the ball looked as if it were on a string attatched to his shoe the way he "rolled" it...And he looked like a chubby, fat, out of shape bum....but he was phenomenal....
For those that saw these players play , it sure was special....The US cities that had these teams back in the 80`s new how awesome the sport was...It just never attracted enough attention across the country, the arenas would sell out in certain areas nightly, other teams just moved around...Back then though, it felt like a Major league sport...

Many peoples have different opinion. Sometimes they seem to have opposite opinion. I think that in old days people have opinion and say the opposite because maybe the king kill them if they say it like they really think. people claim the earth flat because they no want others to go to new world. they want to take all the resources for themselves. I do research on subject and come back. I think many things have been hidden from us peasants in the past. in meantime read these things. thank you.
